TODAY IS A WHITE DAY

CARDINAL WORD OF THE DAY: Ennui (noun) - feeling of weariness. Reluctant of doing science homework, Blake could only sigh with ennui as more was assigned.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: If any students are interested in volunteering for the Hall Elementary Carnival on September 8th, please see Ms. Hochenauer. You can work any shifts from 4:30-8:30, or the entire time. This will count towards 10 hours of community service needed to graduate.

BOYS SOCCER FIRST MATCH: Come and cheer on the Boy's soccer team for our first match of the season on Wednesday August 31st. You will get the chance to win a free t-shirt just for showing your support! Be at Spark's Field on Wednesday @ 5pm!!

MISSOURI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CHANCELLOR'S SCHOLARSHIP: Requirements: GPA 3.75 or better, ACT score of 30 or better, the application can be downloaded from sfa.mst.edu. Application must be postmarked by Nov 1, 2011.

TODAY IS A RED DAY

CARDINAL WORD OF THE DAY: Potboiler (noun) - inferior work for profit. After a long day at school, Suzie liked to unwind with a potboiler of a book for entertainment.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA AUDITIONS: Auditions for "Phantom of the Opera" will take place on Tuesday, August 30th and Wednesday, August 31st at 3:00 in the auditorium. Please see Mrs. Schultz in room 104 for more information.

NHS MEETING: There will be a meeting this Wednesday, August 31 for all current NHS members. The meeting will be held in Room A114. It will begin promptly at 7. Please make plans to be there. If there is a problem, please see Ms. Sherard before Wednesday morning.

CARDINAL WORD OF THE DAY: Duopoly (noun) - control by two political powers. It is unclear if any third party would even threaten the Democrat-Republican duopoly we have in the U.S.

CONGRATS TO GIRLS TENNIS: Congratulations to the girls tennis team for their dedication and hard work in their 9-0 win over Atchison on Tuesday. Their next match is on Monday against Platte County at the Noyes Tennis Complex.

BOYS SOCCER SPAGHETTI DINNER: The boy's soccer team is putting on a spaghetti dinner Friday in the Cafeteria from 5:00 to 6:30. The cost is $5 and that includes dessert!! Come and join us for dinner and then cheer on our Cardinals as we beat up on KC!! Tickets can be bought at the door!
