FOOTBALL PLAYERS:
* All football players are to hand in all equipment Wednesday and Thursday of this week after school. No exceptions!
** The weight room will be open starting next Monday. If you are not participating in a winter sport and play football, you are expected to be there.

Don't miss the exciting production of "Sweeney Todd" this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m in the BHS THEATRE. Tickets are only $5!

Tryouts for Bentley the Benton Mascot will be Wednesday November 12th at 3 p.m. Please meet in room 207 immediately after school on that day for final instructions. Make sure you have signed up with Mrs. Tami Davis if you are trying out.

STAR ATHLETE APPLICATIONS: Any senior boy or girl athlete that would like to apply for the STAR Athlete needs to pick up an application from Ms. Sherard before November 11. This will be the ONLY TIME this year that applications will be available. This appliaction process is for ALL seasons, fall, winter and spring. Pick up your application in Room A114 or in the A+ office. These must be returned by Wednesday, November 12 to be considered for a STAR Athlete this year.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Trash bag orders are due Tuesday, November 4. Please see Ms. Bosworth or Ms. Sherard with your order sheets. NHS will have a meeting on Tuesday, November 11 at 7:00 a.m. in Room A114.

PROM COMMITTEE: There will be a Prom Committee meeting in room 207 after school on Friday November 7. We need all prom committee members to attend. Any questions see Mrs. Tami Davis or Mrs. Juana Misner.

NW MISSOURI AHEC PIPELINE: Heartland had a program called Health Career Interest Groups. They have changed the name to NW Missouri AHEC Pipeline. Students already involved in AHEC do not need to do anything to change to the Pipeline group. It is done automatically. For those of you not involved in this great program it is time to be proactive in gaining information about the career interest you have. Members of the Pipeline will receive newsletters and invitations to attend events that focus on careers in the Health Services Pathway. Please see Mrs. Arambula if you would like more information.

INDOOR FUTSAL LEAGUE: Benton High School will begin it's first ever 'Organized Indoor Futsal League', November 15. Anyone interested, Money and Team names are due, This FRIDAY, November 7th. Cost is $20.00. Please stop by the Library and see Coach Milbourn for more information. No soccer experience necessary.

ST. JOSEPH PUBLIC LIBRARY SALE: The fall book sale by the Friends of the St. Joseph Public Library will be held from November 3 - 7. This year’s sale will be held at Stoney Creek Inn at 1201 North Woodbine. Items available for purchase include books, CDs, DVDs, and music. Most items will be $2 or less.
Sale Hours:
Tuesday through Thursday, 9 am to 9 pm
Friday, Nov 7, 9 am to 8 pm
This is a great way to buy books at inexpensive prices. It’s also a way for students to earn some community service hours.

Benton students will be volunteering at the sale each afternoon and/or evening. We still need helpers for Tuesday through Friday. We also have been invited to help take down the sale on Friday night from 8 until about 10 p.m. Sign up to volunteer in the Counseling Center.

DELTA BETA SIGMA: Delta Beta Sigma (Benton's first fraternity) The DBS goal is to help children in the Burn Unit feel like "regular people" again. We will be visiting Children’s Mercy Hospital for an afternoon, one weekend a month to talk and play with the kids. Anyone who wants to join, please contact the sponsor Mr. Kelly (science teacher) before November 15.

FCA: FCA meets every Friday in A123 at 7:00 a.m.

BENTON GIRLS BASKETBALL: Interested in being a part of the State Girls Basketball Championship Program at Benton? Try-outs will begin November 10. Anyone that wants basketball shoes, see Coach Goodwin, ASAP.
