CHRISTMAS ASSEMBLY + SCHEDULE CHANGE: Students! We will have a Christmas- and holiday-themed assembly TODAY beginning at 2:10 PM during 7th hour. Due to testing, the schedule TODAY will be the same as YESTERDAY'S schedule EXCEPT 7th hour will start at 12:47 PM when CAMP is normally held. If you have any questions, please refer to a print schedules.

BENTON BOOK CLUB: Benton's Book Club will meet on Tuesday, December 22nd, at 7 PM in the Borders Cafe. Bring the book you are currently reading or an old favorite to share with the group. Students and teachers are welcome to attend.

SCHOLARSHIP ASSEMBLY: Any senior receiving ANY kind of scholarship should report it on Prep HQ so that we may recognize you at the end of the year Scholarship Assembly. See Mrs. Turner or Mrs. Hitch for more information.

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARSHIP: If you are a minority student with significant financial need and a GPA of at least 3.3, you might be eligible for the GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARSHIP. Please see Mrs. Turner or Mrs. Hitch for an application packet. The deadline is January 7th.

FBLA MEETING RESCHEDULED: The FBLA meeting scheduled for Friday, December 18th, has been postponed until Wednesday, January 6th. Please bring any BackPack Buddy items to Room 111 on Friday, December 18th, or Monday, December 21st. We will deliver them on Tuesday, December 22nd.

YOUTH ALLIANCE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Merry Christmas! ‘Tis the season for giving and what better way to do this than to give your time to worthy causes! Come volunteer with the Saint Joseph Youth Alliance! This is a free and fun way to give back to your community. These opportunities are great for individuals, school groups, youth groups, High School students needing hours for graduation, community service, as well as a wonderful family activity! Anyone interested please contact Ms. Hitch in the counseling office for details.

SALVATION ARMY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: There are a number of volunteer opportunities available at the Salvation Army this holiday season, including bell ringing, assembling gift bags, setting up for group dinners, and distributing toys. Please see Mrs. Rucker or call 816-279-2101 for more details.

OVERNIGHT LAPTOP CHECKOUT: If you have checked out a library laptop overnight, you MUST return the laptop PRIOR to the start of first hour! You will receive one warning the next time a laptop is not returned. The following time your checkout privileges will be REVOKED. See Mrs. Corey if you have any questions.

READ POSTER CAMPAIGN + DRAWING: Students! Be a part of Benton Library's first ever Read poster campaign! Instead of featuring celebrities, we're featuring YOU and your favorite books! Any student who chooses to participate will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Borders bookstore gift card! Simply stop by the library before or after school with a book (or choose one from the shelves) to have your picture taken by Mrs. Corey to be entered to win!
