FBLA MEETING: An FBLA meeting will be held Thursday, February 4th, at 7:15 AM in Room 111. Everyone should come to make plans for FBLA Week and discuss the dress code for the district contest.

SPORT PHYSICALS: Attention, athletes! If you need a sports physical, Health Express will be here Friday, February 12th, and Wednesday, February 24th. Please come see Mrs. Stephenson for a form and more information.

A+ TUTOR TRAINING: A+ Tutor Training is scheduled for the following dates:
  • Tuesday, February 9th at 7:00 AM
  • Wednesday, February 17th at 3:00 PM
These training sessions are held in Mrs. O'Dells' room in the library. If you have questions, please see Mrs. O'Dell or Ms. Sherard in the A+ Office.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: To be considered for membership in the National Honor Society for 2010 - 2011, paper work must be turned into Ms. Bosworth or Ms. Sherard by Monday, February 8th.

STAR ATHLETE APPLICATION: Any senior interested in applying for the STAR Athlete, please pick up your application from Ms. Sherard. Applications may be picked up NOW and must be returned by Friday, February 5th. You must be a senior, be drug/alcohol free and be involved in a MSHAA sponsored activity. If you have questions, please see Ms. Sherard in Room A114 on even days or in the A+ office on odd days.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR FUTURE TEACHERS: A brand NEW scholarship is available for a senior pursuing a degree to become a certified teacher. See Mrs. Turner in the counseling center for an application. Due date is Thursday, February 11th.

NORTHWEST CAMPUS VISIT: If there are any Juniors that would like to go on a campus visit to Northwest, please stop by the A+ Office today to pick up a permission slip from Ms. H. The visit is Tuesday, February 9th, 2010. Permission Slips for Juniors are due NO LATER than 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 3rd!

ACT REMINDER: If you are signed up to take the ACT this Saturday, February 6th, please be here at about 7:45 AM. Testing begins promptly at 8:00 AM. Remember to bring a photo ID and your own calculator. You may consider bringing a jacket just in case it gets a little chilly.

CINDERELLA'S CLOSET: If you are needing a Prom Dress and/or accessories the Fairy Godmother is here to help! The 4th annual Cinderella's Closet will be open the next two weekends. Our "Giveaway Days" are Saturday, February 6th, and Saturday, March 6th 9 AM - 1 PM at the YWCA in downtown St. Joseph. The girls need to be from Northwest Missouri or Northeast Kansas (the St. Joseph area) in order to receive assistance. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Rucker.

HAVE A HEART FOR THE HOMELESS: The "Have A Heart" campaign will be held next week, February 8th - 12th. Like last year, we are having a competition between CAMPs for supplies that will help our homeless program. The winning camp will win choice of McDonald's breakfast or Dunkin Donuts! Bring toothpaste, bar soap, wash clothes, towels, etc., and be a winner!

SAY "I CARE ABOUT YOU!": Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, It's that time of year to say "I care about you!!" Students will sell bags of chocolate Hershey Kisses and take orders for carnations during lunch for you to purchase for your teachers, family, friends and (of course) your sweetheart! Kisses and carnations will sell for one dollar, the best bargain in town! Any questions, see Mrs. Rucker.
