STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
BASEBALL tryouts begin Monday, March 2nd. Players need to check the door on Room 112 for instructions. Be ready to go outside or stay inside.
CARDINAL DANCE SQUAD sign-ups are now being accepted for the 2009 school year. Try-outs will be March 26th. Please pick up your packet in the attendance office from Mrs. Silvey.
GIRLS SOCCER Starts Monday, March 2nd 3:00- 6p.m., Girls will meet in Springer Gym. For more information please see Coach Milbourn in the Library.
CHEERLEADING tryouts for the 2009-2010 school year will be held March 9th thru March 13th. For forms and information please see Mrs. Allen in Rm. 103
FBLA MEMBERS: Remember to arrange with Mrs. Hays to take your test online this week!! It will take approximately one hour for each test. Members planning on attending the contest at NWMSU need to have your permission slip to me by Friday, February 27th.
BENTLEY THE BENTON MASCOT tryouts will be March 16th - 18th. If you are interested in trying out, please come by room 209 and pick up a packet. Any questions see Mrs. Tami Davis.
MR. BHS competition, sponsored by the Benton prom committee will be on Wednesday April 8th from 6 - 9 p.m. Mark your calendar because you will NOT want to miss it.
ACT deadline to register for the April 4th test is Friday, February 27th. If you are on free or reduced lunch or participate in Upward Bound, you can take the ACT at no charge. Your counselor can give you the fee waiver. Sophomores who want to qualify for Dual Credit math should also take the test. See your counselor for registration materials. Be sure to sign up in the Counseling Center for the ACT prep class that will be offered during 5th period.
SOUTHSIDE ROTARY will be hosting a chili and soup supper on February 28th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Wesley Center. (all you can eat) pie and drink are included. Proceeds go to the Rotary Scholarships (BHS students) and Projects. See Mr. Modis for tickets: adults - $6.00 children - $4.00
BTI Benton Teen Institute

Who: Any BHS student in good standing
What: Fun event in a drug-free environment
Why: To get together with friends and staff to get to know each other and have FUN

The University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School is offering an exciting summer experience for juniors interested in medicine. The Mini Medical School is July 5-9 or July 12-16. Selection is not determined by ACT or GPA. Applications are due by March 15th. Please see Mrs. Arambula if you would like more information.
COLLEGES VISITING BENTON: Any student interested in attending needs to sign up in the counseling office by the end of the day prior to the visit.
