STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Benton Lit Magazine "Hope" is on sale now. Copies are $3.00 each in Room 205.

Any boy or girl interested in playing in soccer next year needs to sign up in the library to attend a meeting Monday, May 18th during 5th hour.. Any questions please see Coach Milbourn

MSHSAA District Soccer will be postponed until tomorrow Saturday, May 16th @ 4pm @ LeBlond H.S.
I would like to challenge our students and fans to come and support these girls as they will be playing our cross town rivals (Lafayette). We have split wins with the Irish, winning 3-2 at their place and they beating us 2-1 at ours. This is the deciding match breaking a tie between our schools. With our student body and fan support, we can provide a tremendous atmosphere and enthusiam to help our girls defeat the Irish. Cost for this district event is only $3.

MSHSAA District Baseball is postponed until Monday. Games will be played at the following locations and times on Monday:
Hyde 6- 4:30pm Savannah vs Smithville; 6:30pm Platte County vs. Cameron
Phil Welsh- 4:30pm Benton vs. Bishop LeBlond; 6:30pm Lafayette vs. Maryville
Mondays Games will be moved to Wednesday and the Championship Game will be on Thursday, all played at Phil Welsh Stadium.

Tuesday, May 19th- A Crash Simulation will take place in front of the High School for Sophomores and will take place around 9:45 a.m.-11:11 a.m.

Library Books from Seniors are Due Wednesday, May 20th, Students in grades 9th, 10th, and 11th, your books are due that following Wednesday, May 27th.

NORTH END COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION needs help with Mayfest at Krug Park. Student volunteers are needed at the following times (you decide how long you want to work):
Friday, May 15th—5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 16th—Noon to 10:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 17th—12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

June 2‐ 5 (Tuesday – Friday) & June 8‐11 (Monday – Thursday)
Session 1: 7:30 ‐11:30 a.m.
Session 2: 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.
June 15 – 18 & 22 ‐ 25 (Monday – Thursday Both Weeks)
Session 3: 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Session 4: 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.

A+ SCHOOLS PROGRAM TUTOR TRAINING: There is only 1 more tutor training scheduled before the end of school. Training takes place in the Benton Library on the following date:

Tuesday, May 19th - 2:50 p.m.

Check with the A+ Office for details on tutoring opportunities available this summer.

Summer school applications have arrived in the counseling center. Pick up the forms in the counseling center and return them to your counselor if you plan to sign up for summer school. If you have failed one of your core classes, you should sign up for summer school to keep you on track for graduation. The following classes are offered:

Communications Arts
Social Studies
Math
Science
Personal Finance
Fit for Life
Marketing Internship
Photography
Foods, Nutrition, Wellness

If you will be a junior or senior and plan to take Marketing and a Marketing Internship next year, you should sign up with Mr. Musser for the summer Marketing Internship class. The hours you work during the summer will count for the class next fall. You can only count the hours if you sign up for the summer class. Check with Mr. Musser if you have questions.

MAY 21st Health Express will be here doing sports physicals for next year. The cost will be $10.00 this time. June 1st the cost goes up to $15.00. Please see the school nurse to sign up.

SENIORS: There will be a mandatory Senior Service Day on Tuesday, May 26th that will count toward your community service requirement to graduate.

Triumph Foods Maintenance Department is looking for a few good candidates to work on our Summer Time Maintenance Crew. They might potentially hire 6 people to help out in their maintenance department doing various jobs, from cleaning to painting to light maintenance work around the plant. This is a great opportunity for students who are looking for work during the summer. The requirements are that they be of 18 years of age. The work hours are, Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm. MISSOURI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE will hold the 13th statewide leadership development workshop for current freshmen. Workshop will be in Mexico, Missouri July 8-10. It is a great opportunity to develop decision-making and leadership skills. Please see Mrs. Arambula if y
