STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There will be an Interact Meeting after school today, Wednesday, April 8th. We will be discussing our plans for March of Dimes Week.

A+ SENIORS; If all the A+ requirements are completed before April 9th, you will be listed in the Graduation Program as having qualified for the A+ Grant. You may still complete your requirements after April 9th and before June 1st, but you will not receive A+ recognition in the Graduation Program. If you have any questions, please check with the A+ Office in the Library.

InterServ is putting on Summer Kick this Summer and are looking for students to work the games, the pay is great and it's a great way to meet people in the soccer community. It's s a seven week session and games will be played on Thursday's starting at 5 p.m., if you are interested in working the games, see Coach Milbourn in the Library for an application.

Any sophomore or junior students interested in applying for FMPs for next year, please see Mrs. Liles (odd days) Room 105 or Mrs. Talbot in Room 111 to pick up an application packet. All information will be due on April 24 by 1 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS. We do not know how this program will work next year. You will not be guaranteed a Cadet Training hour and/or numbers may be limited.

The March of Dimes Walk is coming up on Saturday, April 18th. If you are interested in helping raise money and walk please see Mrs. Arambula. This is a great way to get community service hours.

There will be a co-ed student/teacher volleyball competition on Friday, April 17th. Teams must be between8-15 players, at least half must be students and $2.00 per team member. Anyone interested in forming a team needs to turn in the team roster to Mrs. Arambula by Thursday, April 9th. Due to time limitations the first four teams that turn in rosters and money will be in the competition.

BHS COMPETITION, sponsored by the Benton prom committee will be on Wednesday April 8th from 6 - 9 p.m. Mark your calendar because you will NOT want to miss it.

Spanish Club will have its next meeting on Wednesday, April 8th right after school in Room 202. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Punzo.

DONATIONS of flowerpots for a project to sell at The Gardner’s Festival, April 24th, & 25th. We need medium size on up of clay pots. We need help with painting some of the pots. This will be a fundraiser for our group. We appreciate your support. Needing community service hours? This would be a fun time and go towards a great cause. See Mrs. Rucker in the Counseling Center for further details.

MISSOURI WESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY is offering a 2009 Summer Research Institute June 1st - July 24th with an opportunity to work as part of a research team with a faculty member & MWSU student. Research teams include Biology, English, Foreign Language & Journalism, Mathematics and Nursing. If interested in being a part of one of these teams, see Mrs. Arambula.

COLLEGES VISITING BENTON: Any student interested in attending needs to sign up in the counseling office by the end of the day prior to the visit.

CPOD is a free program at Linn State Technical College June 7-12. The leadership program will help students learn about career opportunities in computer field.

Please make sure to sign up for any employment related workshops you are interested in having come to your class on the chart in the mail room. I need to have all of the presentations scheduled by Wednesday, April 8th in order to make sure I have presenters for each topic. I've also been asked if the presenters could come on the 14th. That is fine, but I need to know time and topic by the 8th as well. THANKS CASEY ARAMBULA

Worlds of Fun is interviewing and hiring for summer employment. See the Job Postings bulletin board in the Counseling Center.

Benton High School will be having a Job Fair on Wednesday, April 15th from 2:30 to 4:00. As of now, St. Joseph Parks and Recreation, Burger King, Progressive Community Services and Cold Stone Creamery will be here. The Missouri Chamber of Commerce is holding the 13th statewide leadership development workshop for current freshmen. This workshop will be in Mexico, MO on July 8 through the 10th. It is a great opportunity to teach you decision making and leadership skills. Please see Mrs. Arambula if you are interested.
