ALL-SCHOOL PLAY: There will be a brief meeting in room 102 immediately after school on Wednesday the 21st for anyone interested in working on lighting, sound, set or props crew for the all-school play. If you can't attend the meeting, but would like to help out, please see Mrs. Schultz ASAP!
BOOK FAIR: The Book Fair will run from today through Thursday of this week. Be sure to stop by the library and pick out a book to purchase!
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: Drama Club is going to see High School Musical on Thursday, October 22nd. We will meet at the Missouri Theatre at 7:00. Tickets are only $4! This is a savings of $12. Anyone who wants to go with the group, must purchase an advance ticket from Mrs. Schultz in room 102 by TODAY.
JOB OPPORTUNITY: Students - are you looking for a job this winter? The Youth Recreational Basketball Program is about to begin. Approximately 75 positions are open this winter. They need gym supervisors, scorekeepers and referees. Each employee must attend one clinic before the season begins. The first will be held on October 31st. BOYS SOCCER FOOD DRIVE: The Boys Soccer Team will be hosting their Second Annual "Senior Night Kick Out Hunger" Canned Food Drive October 27th at 5 p.m. Plan now to bring two canned food items and get in for FREE. The boys will be accepting canned food donations starting October 13th- October 27th.

EARBUDS FOR SALE IN LIBRARY: Need a set of earbuds? You can buy a high-quality, library-grade set of earbuds for only $4 in the library! See Mrs. Corey or Mrs. Halter to purchase.
COLLEGE VISITS: Students please be advised if you want to go on a college visit you must request the permission form from Mrs. Hitch at least one week in advance of your scheduled visit date. If you are failing any class or have less than 90% attendance, you will not be permitted to go. Teachers must be given advanced notice of at least 2 class periods, and must sign off for you to miss their class. This will count as one of the two days you can be gone per semester.
HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIP: Time is running out to apply for the Horatio Alger Scholarship. The due date is Oct 30th. A recommendation letter from an adult is required. Do not wait until the last minute to ask for your recommendation. Students from Benton have won this scholarship in the past. You must have overcome some type of adversity and display financial need in order to apply. See Mrs. Turner or Mrs. Hitch ASAP.
COMMUNITY OF SPIRIT SCHOLARSHIP: Juniors and Seniors are eligible to apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Scholarship in recognition of OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT. See Prep HQ, Mrs. Hitch or Mrs. Turner in the counseling center to apply. Deadline is October 31st.
COCA COLA SCHOLARSHIP: The deadline for the Coca Cola Scholarship is October 30th. You should look on PrepHQ for the website and then apply online. This is a national scholarship in which 50 students receive $20,000 and 200 students receive $10,000 for college.
ASVAB TEST: Will be held on October 28th at 8:00 a.m. Juniors and seniors interested in taking the ASVAB test need to sign up in the counseling center by Friday, October 23rd. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Engel.
TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS: Any student needing to request a transcript needs to do so through Prep HQ. If you have any questions please contact your counselor or Mrs. Hitch.
