UMKC SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: If you are planning to attend UMKC next year, the deadline to apply and be considered for Automatic Freshman scholarships is February 1st.

GOLDEN GRIFFON SCHOLARSHIP: If you are planning to attend Missouri Western and have at least a 27 on the ACT, the deadline to apply for the Golden Griffon Scholarship is Jan 23rd.

UNITED WAY VOLUNTEERING: Have you ever been to the pool at the YMCA? Or played basketball at the Wesley Center? Were you a Boy Scout or Girl Scout? These programs and more are supported by United Way. Learn more about these agencies and give back to your community all at the same time by serving as a United Way allocations volunteer. The time commitment is 10-15 hours over a 3 month period. For more information, contact Mrs. Hitch by January 25th.

BENTON WINTER HOMECOMING: Benton's Winter Homecoming is Friday, January 29th! The Benton Boy's Basketball Team will be playing the Platte County Pirates, as this year's theme is "Show up The Pirates." Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors may nominate prince and princess candidates and seniors can nominate king and queen candidates by visiting Mr. Reigert's room TODAY. You can stop by to make a nomination before school, after school, or between classes but NOT during CAMP. Show your school spirit and nominate a candidate today!

TURN IT IN FOR THE WIN CONTEST: Any time you check out a book and have NO overdues this month, you'll be entered to win your choice of either The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins or a book from the Chronicles of Vladmir Tod series by Heather Brewer, plus a bag o' free stuff.
