HOMECOMING DANCE: A Homecoming Dance will be held on Friday night following the game. Music will be provided by Night Majic and the cost is $5 per person. Remember that any outside dates must be pre-approved in the office!

HOMECOMING SPIRIT DAYS: Spirit days this week are as follows:

WEDNESDAY: TV Show Day
  • Seniors: Dress up as a character from That 70's Show!
  • Juniors: Dress up as a character from Made!
  • Sophomores: Dress up as a character from Scrubs!
  • Freshmen: Dress up as a character from Rugrats!
  • Teachers: Dress up as a character from The Office!
THURSDAY: Dress Up "Nice" Day
  • Wear your finest dress clothes to beautify the school!
FRIDAY: Cardinal Spirit Day
  • Show your school spirit by wearing red and black Cardinals gear!
HOMECOMING T-SHIRTS FOR SALE: Homecoming T-shirts are being sold in Mr.Reigerts room for $8. Please go to room A120 if you would like to buy one.

MISSOURI LEADERSHIP SEMINAR: Sophomores if you are interested in building your leadership skills and having a chance to represent Benton High School at the Missouri Leadership Seminar on June 4th-6th at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg see Mrs. Engel for an application. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Engel by Monday, February 1st.

SPORT PHYSICALS: Attention, athletes! If you need a sports physical, Health Express will be here Friday, February 12th, and Wednesday, February 24th. Please come see Nurse Stephenson for a form and information.

ATTENTION BASEBALL & SOFTBALL PLAYERS: There will be a brief 15 minute meeting TODAY in Room 112 at 2:50 PM. Only players who are NOT currently out for a Winter sport need attend. Be on time!

A+ TUTOR TRAINING: A+ Tutor Training is scheduled for the following dates:
  • TODAY at 3:00 PM
  • February 9th at 7 AM
  • February 17th at 3:00 PM
These training sessions are held in Mrs. O'Dells' room in the library. If you have questions, please see Mrs. O'Dell or Ms. Sherard in the A+ Office.

STAR ATHLETE APPLICATION: Any senior interested in applying for the STAR Athlete, please pick up your application from Ms. Sherard. Applications may be picked up NOW and must be returned by Friday, February 5th. You must be a senior, be drug/alcohol free and be involved in a MSHAA sponsored activity. If you have questions, please see Ms. Sherard in Room A114 on even days or in the A+ office on odd days.

TURN IT IN FOR THE WIN CONTEST: Any time you check out a book and have NO overdues this month, you'll be entered to win your choice of either The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins or a book from the Chronicles of Vladmir Tod series by Heather Brewer, plus a bag o' free stuff. See library staff for details and don't forget to participate in our ongoing Read @ Benton Poster Campaign!
