STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team for their performances in the Excelsior Springs Invitational yesterday. John Beamon and Jordan Bolton led the boys varsity with strong medals finish runs. Taylor Woodruff ran an outstanding race to finish in the top five of the girls varsity. Brian McIntosh led Benton finishers in the boys J.V. race. Blayr Bolton raced to a top ten finish with strong support from Erin McAndrews in the girls J.V. race. Kegan Cunningham, C.J. Snapp, and Casey Easter all ran exceptional races to earn medals in the Freshmen boys race.

"Benton Young Life will meed Wednesday night at 8:00 at the Foursquare Gymnasium. Everyone is invited."

Interested in being a part of the State Girls Basketball Championship Program at Benton? Well, Try-outs will begin Novemeber 10th and anyone that wants basketball shoes, see Coach Goodwin, ASAP.

The Benton Cheerleaders are hosting the Pink Ribbon Game on Friday Oct. 17th. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. We are selling t-shirts to promote the game and proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. (They provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford mamograms) Order forms are available from any varsity cheerleader or Mrs. Allen or Mrs. T. Davis. Order forms and the money is due by today Oct. 10th. Hurry while they last.

A+ TUTOR NEEDED: Spring Garden Middle School needs a male tutor to work with a student 11:00 to 12:30. Please stop by the A+ Office for more details.

PUMPKIN FEST: Volunteers are needed for this year’s event on October 10th, 11th, and 12th. Please see Mrs. Arambula in the Counseling Center.

Juniors, as participants of the My Success Event last year, you are eligible for a My Success Event Scholarship. There are at least 16- $500 scholarships available. Some colleges have matching scholarships for students receiving the MSE scholarship. This could mean $1000 for some students. The scholarship application is available at: http://www.mysuccessevent.com/ and is due November 7th. See Mrs. Nelson or Mrs. Arambula if you have questions.

Staff- Matthew Tabor (head Football Coach) is sending out Progress Reports for all of the football players to have signed and returned. They will be sent out every week and must be returned by Friday of each week. Thank you for your cooperation !!
