STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team for their efforts on Saturday in the Kearney Invitational. The Boys were led by John Beamon with strong support from Ryno Relford and Jordan Bolton. Taylor woodruff and Blayr Bolton paced the Girls varsity. Brian McIntosh led the way for the Boys J.V. Eden Woodbury ran a strong race in leading the Girls J.V. Logan Amador led the Fr. Boys while Amber Boller was top finisher for the Fr. Girls.

Benton Soccer is playing Lafayette tonight at Sparks Stadium, 5 p.m.

SQ632 is hosting GATORADE KNOCKOUT CHALLENGE October 13th, 6:32-8:30 p.m., at the Midland Center. Bring a Friend and enter the money pot to win a $125, and also have a chance to win 10 GALLONS of GATORADE... Call 383-4315 or 238-9990 for a ride to the event!! Hope to see you there:)

Anyone interested in joining Benton's "Step Team", we will have our first meeting October 17, 2008 @ 7:15 a.m. in room A3. Please stop by and see Mrs. O'Dell or Coach Milbourn, if you have any questions.

The Missouri Taxidermy Institute in Linn Creek, MO at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks is looking for students interested in taxidermy. They offer 4 and 8 week classes several times a year. Please see Mrs. Arambula if you are interested.

Whiskey Creek is looking form greeters to work at least one night a week and 2 weekend nights. It is $4.75 an hour, plus 2% of tips made. See Mrs. Arambula if you need more information.

Interested in being a part of the State Girls Basketball Championship Program at Benton? Well, Try-outs will begin Novemeber 10th and anyone that wants basketball shoes, see Coach Goodwin, ASAP.

The Benton Cheerleaders are hosting the Pink Ribbon Game on Friday Oct. 17th. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, so come out and support them on their efforts.

A+ SCHOOLS PROGRAM: A+ tutor training will be held on Thursday, October 16th at 2:50p.m. in room A3. Please remember that tutors must attend one training.

A+ TUTOR is also NEEDED: Spring Garden Middle School needs a male tutor to work with a student 11:00 to
12:30.Please stop by the A+ Office for more details.

Juniors, as participants of the My Success Event last year, you are eligible for a My Success Event Scholarship. There are at least 16- $500 scholarships available. Some colleges have matching scholarships for students receiving the MSE scholarship. This could mean $1000 for some students. The Career Education Class is taking a college visit to the University of Kansas on Wednesday, Oct. 29th. Any seniors that are interested in going please see Mrs. Arambula in the Counseling Center or Ms. Gaiser. We will be leaving school at 7:45 and returning by 2:30. The cost is $7.50 per student plus additional money for lunch. All permission slips and money need to be turned in by Friday, Oct. 24th. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Staff- Matthew Tabor (head Football Coach) is sending out Progress Reports for all of the football players to have signed and returned. They will be sent out every week and must be returned by Friday of each week. Thank you for your cooperation !!

The wellness clinic is scheduled for Tues. Oct 14th 7-10:30 AM. See the nurse to schedule your apt. the cost is $10.00.
