TODAY IS A WHITE DAY

CARDINAL WORD OF THE DAY: Hermetic (adjective) - 1. difficult or impossible for one of ordinary knowledge to comprehend. 2. airtight. 3. resistant to outside influence. I don't like the book I am reading because it's full of hermetic ideas and esoteric quotes.

ATTENTION ATHLETES: The Health Express will be here February 11th and 25th to do sports physicals. The cost is $15 cash or check. Come see the nurse, Mrs. Stephenson, for a form and more information.

RED CROSS HEROES: Any student who is interested in becoming a Hero for the America Red Cross and gaining 30 volunteer hours should contact Ms. Turner in the counseling center or call Kevin Kirby at 816-232-8439. For those of you interested in getting scholarships, this is a great activities resume builder.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BHS SPECIAL OLYMPICS BASKETBALL TEAM: They participated in a tournament at Missouri Western over the weekend. The cardinals not only knocked off cross town rival LHS in an exciting comeback nail biter, but they also won the championship! Way to go BHS Special Olympics, you make us proud!


UPWARD BOUND MATH/SCIENCE: Any 9th through 11th grade student interested in information about Northwest Missouri State’s Upward Bound, Math/Science Program should sign the list in the counselor’s office ASAP. A representative from this program will be here on Monday, Feb 7th during CAMP. This program is for college bound individuals who would like to attend a summer camp at Northwest Missouri State.

SO YOU WANT TO BE A LAWYER: Any juniors or seniors who are interested in becoming a Lawyer are invited to attend UMKC’s “SO YOU WANT TO BE A LAWYER” recruitment seminar on Saturday, February 5th. More information is available in the Counseling Center.
